Bravery comes in many forms. Here courage is not measured by grand gestures, but by the daily act of taking up space in a world that often isn’t built for disabled bodies and minds.

This issue celebrates the quiet heroism involved in advocating for yourself during medical appointments. Writing can be a radical act. We want you to be authentically, and unapologetically, yourself. This issue is vulnerable and courageous. Tell us about a moment you felt brave, or witnessed bravery in others. Tell us about an imagined world where you didn’t have to be so brave all the time. Tell us about the small brave moments in love stories. Write about your fandom, or your pets, or the music you like to listen to. Tell us about your small acts of rebellion, or what action you’ve taken towards climate change. It’s time to take up space. Look at the world around you. What does it mean to be brave?
