What does it mean to be brave when the world expects you to be grateful just for existing? Here courage is not measured by grand gestures, but by the daily act of taking up space, of simply getting out of bed.

This issue celebrates the quiet heroism involved in advocating for yourself during medical appointments. Throughout history, writing has always been a radical act, and these writers are authentically, and unapologetically, themselves. This issue is vulnerable and courageous. These writers don't just write about disability because they have to—they write because they have stories to tell, from love poetry to epic fantasy worlds, from everyday moments of revelation to bold explorations of identity and place. It’s time to take up space.
